    Have a tree that you pass on a regular basis that you always wonder 'what is that?'  Own a woodland and want to know exactly what trees you have?  Then join us for a day filled with leaves, twigs and bark - all designed to help you identify trees.  We will spend the day getting familiar with tree id terminology, walk through a dichotomous key and finish the day with hands on practice in the field.  Join Ohio State's Jim Chatfield and Kathy Smith for a day of tree focused information. ISA Credits are available.

    Come one, come all to the Germinate International Film Fest, featuring a diverse range of films highlighting agriculture and rural communities. The Highland County Office of Ohio State University Extension is pleased to announce the inaugural festival will be held on August 16 and 17, 2019, in Hillsboro. Germinate means to grow and the purpose of this film festival is to grow knowledge about agriculture, natural resources, and rural communities.

    This day-long class is all about the wildlife in your woods. Spend the day learning about the birds, amphibians, and mammals making your woods their home. Learn how to attract a variety of these species to your woodlot with proper management and also how to monitor their presence. This class will have both indoor and outdoor sessions. The OSU Mansfield campus is diverse with vernal pools, mature woodlands, pollinator habitat, and more. We will be visiting many of these spaces so please dress accordingly.

Following Pre-Convocation, you will walk over to the Schottenstein Center for Convocation events with Dr. Drake.
